Yummy Food

Food glorious food!

All our food is home-cooked on site from fresh, local produce by our amazing resident chefs. Our scrummy and often-adventurous menus are updated every four weeks to reflect the seasonality of produce and to take advantage of our own nursery gardens.

Food is integral to the fabric of life at Mini Explorers. Our mealtimes are happy, sociable occasions where we all (adults and children) sit together, and we encourage our older children in particular to help with setting and clearing tables. Food is placed in the middle of the table to encourage our children to serve themselves to give them a sense of ownership of their food choices. This encourages our children to explore new and exciting flavours.

Families are invited to meet with the chef to discuss any special dietary requirements their children may have.

“Enjoying fresh farm produce and sharing food together is one of life’s simple pleasures!” –  Steph Pybus, Owner and Founder.

Grown with love

Our Mini Explorers’ food journey doesn’t end when the plates are cleared. Aside from learning all about food production on the farm, all our children also help to nurture and grow fruit, vegetables and herbs in our gardens and polytunnels in The Paddock.

We love to see the delight on our children’s faces when they harvest the spoils of their hard work or collect eggs from the chickens and proudly present them to their parents at home-time.

Baking and cooking around the farm table is another activity that all our Mini Explorers love, and bread-making and butter churning is a particular speciality of ours!
