Embark on a delightful journey through a typical day at Mini Explorers Nursery, where every moment is an adventure waiting to unfold. From the moment our little explorers arrive, to the peaceful end of the day, our routine is carefully designed to blend structured learning with the freedom to explore. Engaging with the seasons and the farming calendar, our Mini Explorers enjoy a day filled with discovery, laughter, and growth. Join us as we take a closer look at how our unique approach to early years education brings joy and learning to life in the most natural and engaging way.
From Dawn to Dusk
Rhythms of the Day
A Gentle Start…
At the crack of dawn (well, 7 AM to be exact!) Mini Explorers springs into life! As our mini explorers arrive to a warm welcome we chat to our parents as they drop off their children. We exchange smiles and stories, setting the tone for a day filled with excitement. Breakfast is more than just eating; it's very sociable and it’s also a chance for our explorers to don their chef hats and whip up some delicious morning treats together.
Good Morning World!
With tummies full from breakfast and spirits high, we gather around for 'gather together.' This is where dreams of the day turn into plans. Whether it’s a quest for bugs or a trek through our magical farm, every voice is heard and every idea is a possibility!
A Farming We Will Go…
Next, we fling open the doors and set the stage for adventure. We open the doors to our outdoor spaces, sun hats and sunscreen or wellies and waterproofs - no matter the weather, it’s time to head into the great outdoors. Our farm awaits, let the exploring begin with endless opportunities to adventure and learn.
Snacks on the Go
We often take our morning snacks on the go and adventures are best paired with yummy treats, especially if we've ventured far and wide across the fields. Hands will be thoroughly cleaned and we’ll all sit down on the grass, or under a tree, to fill up our tummies readying ourselves for the next round of fun and exploration before lunch.
Leisurely Lunch
We know how important it is for our children to eat a nutritious, balanced, home-cooked meal so, by midday, we head back to basecamp and our explorers regroup with friends for a hearty, two course meal. It’s a grand feast where laughter and stories of the morning's escapades echo around the table.
Afternoon Lull
After such a bustling morning, and a lovely lunch there is a natural dip and a peaceful lull settles in. It's time for our young explorers to recharge with a nap or enjoy some quiet, relaxed activities and down time. This gentle pause helps little minds and bodies prepare for the afternoon’s escapades.
Here we go again!
Revitalised, we embark on the afternoon’s journey. As the afternoon gets into full swing we will head outdoors again for lots more exploration, investigation and fresh air. Our farm is our classroom, and the lessons are limitless. Every bush, every bug, and every breeze brings something new to learn.
Time for Tea
As shadows lengthen, another delicious meal awaits our explorers. A two course substantial home-cooked tea keeps us all fully-fuelled until the end of the day. Once more, our meal times are all about socialising and sharing stories of the day’s adventures and yummy food together.
Winding Down
As our busy day draws to a close, for some it's time to slow down. So, we encourage our older explorers to help tidy away activities, help to get the animals ready for bed, learning the value of teamwork and responsibility, while the younger children gather for a cuddle and story time, drifting into the world of make-believe with much-loved storybooks and music.
Heading Home
The day might be ending, but the stories of adventure are just beginning to be told. As our families arrive to collect their children, their key person greets them with tales of their little ones' adventures of the day and are ready to answer any questions or queries. Each day there are cherished memories and a treasure trove of learning and fun.
