Farm School 2
Where Independence Blooms and Adventures Unfold
Welcome to Farm School 2, a dynamic and inspiring setting for our pre-primary children. As they embark on their final year at Mini Explorers, Farm School 2 provides a perfect backdrop for fostering independence and building confidence through daily adventures on our farm. Situated in a beautiful glass-fronted, oak-framed building, our Farm School 2 mini explorers enjoy direct access to The Paddock—a vibrant outdoor classroom where learning comes alive.
Exploring Through Engagement
Advanced Role Play and Leadership
Building on the foundations from Farm School 1, children in Farm School 2 enhance their leadership skills and social dynamics through advanced role-play scenarios, guiding younger peers and taking on more complex characters and responsibilities.
Cognitive Growth and Early Academics
Our targeted pre-primary curriculum includes sophisticated problem-solving and early maths concepts, preparing children for the transition to primary school while maintaining the joy and curiosity-driven learning typical of our farm environment.
Environmental
Stewardship
At this stage, children participate more actively in caring for the farm’s animals and tending the kitchen gardens, which enhances their understanding of life cycles and environmental care, fostering a deep-rooted sense of responsibility and empathy.
Creative Expression and Fine Motor Skills
Children explore artistic expression through more intricate art projects and construction activities, designed to refine fine motor skills and encourage individual artistic perspectives.
STEM
In Farm School 2, we integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into our curriculum through hands-on activities that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking, helping children understand and interact with the world around them in innovative ways.
Innovative Spaces for Exploratory Learning
The Paddock is directly accessible from our basecamp, The Paddock is not just an outdoor area but a hub of hands-on learning where children engage directly with nature, animals, and agriculture, enriching their understanding of the world around them.
The Reading Snug is nestled in a cosy corner, our snug is a sanctuary for imagination and calm, filled with books that span genres and cultures, fostering a love for reading and quiet contemplation.
Deepening Connections with the Natural World
In Farm School 2, the great outdoors is our classroom. Here, children are encouraged to lead activities involving animal care, from feeding to grooming, alongside cultivating plants in our kitchen gardens. These experiences not only teach practical skills but also instil a lifelong respect for nature and an understanding of ecological principles.
